Holidays on Location is bound by the Commonwealth Privacy Act of 1988, which sets out our obligation under law in dealing with personal information we collect in our day to day activities. We have compiled the following, in order that you may fully understand what we do with the information we collect.

Information is collected in many ways. As an example, if you request a brochure using the order form on this site, we will ask for your name, address, email or other contact details. When making air and land bookings, we will ask for the names of all of the travelling party, a photocopy of your passports - which include such details as date and place of birth and other personal details.
In certain cases, we may request medical certificates as proof of fitness to travel. The next section will deal with WHY we need this information.

Certain information is required by us to effect bookings on your behalf. Such information as your name (as registered in your passport), address and contact details are obvious and we could not carry out our work without it. When making airline reservations on your behalf, we need to advise the airlines of your name, passport number, the date and place of your birth. This information is passed from the airlines to the immigration authorities on your itinerary, to allow pre-screening of arriving passengers.

Hoteliers and tour companies generally require your names and where a different rate is applied depending on age - such as child or seniors rates - your date of birth. Airlines, because of the pre-screening by immigration authorities, require your names, passport numbers, the date and place of your birth. Holidays on Location is required to collect all this information on behalf of third parties. We share only the necessary information as required by each party.

Holidays on Location does not onsell or otherwise give out your details unless specifically asked to do so by you. We do not, without your consent, place you on any mailing/email/other list unless you request that we do so. The information we collect is passed in good faith by us only to the parties needing this information. We cannot guarantee whether a third party will use your information in accord with their charter or otherwise.

The Holidays on Location web site, Austrian Holidays, British & Irish Holidays, German Holidays, Scandinavian Holidays and Switzerland Holidays do not use "cookies" to track your visits to our sites. We do record the number of visits to each site and the location of the visitor, without collecting any other details. This information is used for our internal purposes, to judge the popularity or usefulness of our web sites.

Holidays on Location collects information required by various parties directly form you and via your Travel Agent. We have no means at our disposal to verify the accuracy or otherwise of the information given to us. In order to minimise possible problems at immigration check points, it is imperative that the information that is passed to us is correct.
