10 Lakes Tour
2009 Rates subject to currency fluctuations
Through the shining world of lakes in the Salzkammergut - Individual single tour and guided group tour different
route variations - approx. 265 km by bicycle
 |
|
What could be more enjoyable than biking on the shore
paths of the lakes and to let the soul "flow" in a wonderfully
unspoilt countryside? A tour through the Salzkammergut full of history,
only a few kilometres away from the city, the holidaymaker is spoilt
by the unique setting. The soft hill landscape of the Salzburger Voralpenland
has a charm of its own. Small peaks tower above the background of the
clean lakes and invite again and again to stop and take in the scenery.
You bicycle past lush green meadows, mighty woods and jagged rocks. You
will not believe your eyes. This way biking becomes a pleasure, you literally
forget the strain on some of the ascents that naturally belong to a real
bicycle tour. You cycle through pastures and moorlands, to the Silent-Night
town, Oberndorf and to the old Kaiser town Bad Ischl. Yes, you cycle
through a cliché world that has become true. The 10-Lake-Tour
is an active way to relax experiencing nature and visiting places of
interest. You can dive into the world of Bavarians or mentally follow
the footsteps of the composer of "Silent Night, Holy Night".
Or you can take a chance on a trip to Schafberg and visit Schloß Orth
where the TV series with starring Klaus Wildboltz in the main role has
been shot
On the lake shores and the banks of the Salzach the bicycle routes are flat.
In-between the terrain is hilly. Depending on the route you take, one third
is on cycle tracks, almost all the rest on meadow and wood paths and country
lanes and on side streets with light traffic. Only a few, short sections follow
streets with more traffic.
