Trentino – Veneto From BOLZANO to Venice
 A short distance through South Tyrol’s vineyards and along the Àdige
to Trentino. Lago di Garda will be included, at the southern end of which
the tour leads to Veneto and then in the Po Valley. Famous cities such
as Verona, Vicenza and Venice are either stage destinations or located
on the way. They promise an extremely interesting bike tour. A boat journey
on Lago di Garda and possibilities to visit the thermal springs of “Abano
Terme” take care of rest and more variety.
The route is flat or slightly as far as easily
hilly the only strenuous part is the Monti
Berici. The first two stages are predominantly
on bicycle paths, southern and eastern from
Gardasee you cycle mostly on paths
and side roads. As a result of missing bicycle
paths there are a few, short sections on streets with heavy
traffic. Almost continuous asphaltic ways.
Car park in Bolzano, parking
in the hotel car park garage €10/day, no
reservation possible, payable in the
hotel (individual single tour) or video-guarded
hotel car park €60 weekly (guided group tour).
Public car park about €57 weekly, no reservation
possible, payable on spot. Unguarded parking for free outside
the city center.
There are many train connections at your disposal.
In a limited number the return transfer to
Bolzano is also possible by mini bus (€55 per person, bike included,
payable on the spot, reservation beforehand with the organiser).
Itinerary:
Day 1
Category A: Arrival in Bolzano;
Category B: Arrival in Bolzano/Surroundings.
Sightseeing tour of the old town with its bowers and
cathedral. It is situated between the Zillertal Alps
in the north and the Dolomites in the south. Having
been the seat of a bishopric since the 10th century,
Brixen is surrounded picturesquely by vineyards of
the well-known Silvaner. Group tour: City tour.
Day 2
Category A: Bozen – Trient
approx. 68 km;
Category B: Bozen – Trient.
Usually along the Àdige, partly through the orchards to Salurn, where
the German speaking South Tyrol comes to an end. The dam pathways lead to Trento
(the old part of town is worth seeing).
Day 3
Category A: Trient – Lake
Garda South approx. 50 km + boat journey
At first again along the Àdige through Roverto to Mori. From here the
tour leads westward towards Lake Garda. After a short ascent
a descent follows and leads you via the lake to Torbole and to Riva. From here
you go on a boat journey on the whole length of the lake to Sirmione/Desenzano.
Category B: Bozen – Trient
The Àdige valley gets narrower and you come nearer
to the
rocks of the mountain ranges. There you can have a look at imposing castles,
which held guard over one of the most important trade channels for a few centuries.
Rovereto and the Mozarttown Ala should be visited.
Day 4
Category A: Lake Garda
South – Verona approx. 50 km
Partly flat, partly easily hilly through the vine hills to Verona, a city full
of places of interest (festival arena, Julia`s house, old city walls). Group
tour – city tour.
Category B: Ala/Dolce – Verona approx. 50 - 65 km
You cycle with a few exceptions on a good extended bicycle path
along the Àdige to Verona.

5
Category A: Verona – Vicenza
approx. 67 km;
Category B: Verona – Vicenza/Surroundings.
Today is the longest stage on the program for the single tour (group tour – transfer
to San Bonifacio). At first flat and then through the hill of “Monti Berici”,
the excursion region of Vicenza, with a beautiful view of the city. In the old
part of town one can still feel the ghost of Palladio, the famous architect from
the Middle Ages.
Day 6
Category A: Vicenza – Abano
Terme approx. 35 km;
Category B: Vicenza – Abano Terme.
Numerous Venetian villas are located at the exit of Vicenza, such as for example
the Villa Rotonda. Along the Bacchiglione the way leads to Abano Terme one of
Italy’s famous spas, as the destination of the stage. Padua, the city of
Saint Antonius and scholars, that can also be easily reached from Abano by bus.
The short stage allows enough time to enjoy the thermal springs.
Day 7
Category A: Abano Terme
- Venice/Mestre/Marghera approx. 50 km;
Category B: Abano Terme - Venice/Mestre/Marghera.
Usually supported by the light wind one bike easily through the Veneto in the
direction of the sea. Fields and meadows set the tone of the landscape. The destination
of the stage is located in or near to Marghera/Mestre on the mainland before
Venice with good bus connections to the lagoon city. Group tour – City
tour and dinner in Venice.
Day 8
