General Rental Condition
- The driver has to be in possession of a valid driving
licence.
Age Restrictions
- Minimum age in France is 21 and the driver has to
be in possession of a valid driving licence for at
least 1 year.
- Apart from this, the following restrictions for minimum
age and possession of a valid driving licence are valid:
- 23 years/2 years for vehicle groups IDMR or
higher.
- 25 years/3 years for vehicle groups FDMR or
higher and group ETMR.
- 28 years/3 years for vehicle groups XDAR and
Special Cars.
- A Young Driver Surcharge of EUR 20.- per day,
max. EUR 200.- per rental applies for drivers
under 25 years.
Conditions
of Payment
- We accept all credit cards from internationally recognised
credit card companies - such as American Express, Diners
Club, Eurocard/Mastercard, Visa.
- Visa Electron-, Maestro-cards and checks are not
excepted.
- Cash Payment is not accepted.
- Two credit cards are needed for rentals of FDMR and
higher groups as well as for Special Cars.
- Sixt CarExpress Servicecard is only accepted in combination
with a valid Credit Card.
- Vehicles can only be hired with a credit card accepted
by Sixt or a Sixt credit/identification means.
General
Insurance Conditions
- Third Party Insurance (TI)
Insurance coverage for the vehicle rented
includes Third Party Liability with unlimited cover
for personal injuries and material damages.
Excluded from the insurance is the use of the vehicle for the transport of
dangerous goods. All insurance cover as part of the rental contract will
become void, in particular, if an unauthorized driver has used the vehicle
or if the driver of the vehicle does not possess the required driver´s
licence at the time of the event giving rise to claim.
- Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)
Collision Damage Waiver removes the drivers
responsibility to a part of the vehicle in case of
damage.
If CDW is not accepted, the customer will be held liable for the full value
of the car.
If CDW is accepted, the customer is only responsible for the following amounts:
- EBMN, ECMN, EDMN, EDMR, CDMR, CDAR, CWMR: EUR 500,-
- IDMR, IDAR, IWMR, IVMR, SDMR, SDAR, SWMR, SWAR: EUR 750,-
- FDMR, FDAR, FCMR, FWMR, PDMR, PDAR, PWMR, SVMR, FVMR, LDAR, ETMR, CTMR,
ITMR: EUR 1050,-
- STMR, PTMR, PFMR, LTMR, XDAR, XTMR, XXMR, XXAR: EUR 1250,-
- Theft Protection (TP)
Theft Protection removes the drivers responsibility
to a part of the vehicle in case of theft.
If TP is not accepted, the customer will be held liable for the full value
of the car.
If TP is accepted, customer is only responsible for the following amounts:
- EBMN, ECMN, EDMN, EDMR, CDMR, CDAR, CWMR: EUR 650,-
- IDMR, IDAR, IWMR, IVMR, SDMR, SDAR, SWMR, SWAR: EUR 900,-
- FDMR, FDAR, FCMR, FWMR, PDMR, PDAR, PWMR, SVMR, FVMR, LDAR, ETMR, CTMR,
ITMR: EUR 1200,-
- STMR, PTMR, PFMR, LTMR, XDAR, XTMR, XXMR, XXAR: EUR 1400,-
- Personal Accident Insurance (PAI)
Personal Accident Insurance provides cover
against the consequences of an accident.
PAI includes up to:
- EUR 15.300.- for invalidity of the driver.
- EUR 7,700.- for invalidity of each passenger.
- EUR 23000.- for decease of the driver.
- EUR 6000.- for decease of each passenger.
- EUR 760.- per person for medical costs.
Delivery & Collection
- During Opening Hours
- Delivery/Collection Service is on request.
Please contact the local rental station.
- For up to 5 km, a charge of EUR 9.- applies.
For more than 5 km up to 10 km, a charge of EUR
12.80 applies. For each further kilometre, EUR
0.45 is charged.
One Way Rentals
- National
- For One-Way-Rentals within Sixt locations in
France (except between the same city and between
the airports Paris Orly and Roissy CDG) a charge
of EUR 110.- applies.
- No One-Way Rentals from/to Corsica and DOM
TOM (Oversea Departments) allowed.
- International
All international One-Way Rentals are on request.

Cross Border
Rentals & Territorial Restrictions
- Cross Border Rentals are allowed to the following
countries:
Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic,
Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Great Britain,
Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein,
Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway,
Poland, Portugal, Slovak Republic, Slovenia,
Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.
- Audi, BMW, Mercedes, VW as well as jeeps/offroader
may not be taken into Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia,
Hungary, Lativa, Lithuania, Poland, Slovak Republic
and Slovenia.
- By all vehicles of the groups IVMR, SVMR and FVMR
(including mercedes of Vito, V-class and Vaneo) as
well as transporters may be driven in countries(lands)
of the latter group.
- In case of offence against Cross Border & Territorial
Restrictions all insurances lose their validity.
Service Fee/Premium
Location Fee
- A Service Fee of EUR 21.50 occurs for rentals at
airport and train stations.
Road
fund licence
- A road fund licence of EUR 2.28 per day, max. EUR
9.12 per rental occurs.
Other Fees and
Taxes
- VAT
All rates are inclusive of 19.6% VAT.
Extras
- Additional Driver
An Additional Driver Surcharge of max. EUR 18.30 per rental applies.
- Refuelling Charge
All vehicles are supplied with a full tank of fuel and should be refilled
prior to return to Sixt, otherwise a charge of EUR 1.82 per litre of petrol
or EUR 1.65 per litre of diesel.
