General
Rental Condition
- The driver has to be in possession of a valid driving
licence.
- Driving licences from non-EU countries (except
Switzerland) are accepted if:
- No visa has been entered in the passport.
- The customer has a visa in his passport and
at the time of hire has not been in Europe
for longer than 6 months. If he has been in
Europe for longer than 6 months, he must present
a driving licence from an EU country.
Age Restrictions
- Minimum age in Austria is 18.
- In Austria, the following rules apply for the minimum
age and possession of a valid driving licence
for at least 1 year:
- 18 years old/1 day for vehicles in groups
ECMN to CDMR.
- 21 years old/1 year for vehicles in groups
CWMR and higher.
- 25 years old/3 years for vehicle in groups
XDAR, XTMR, FFMR, STMR, FTMR, PTMR.
Conditions
of Payment
- Sixt accepts all credit cards from internationally
recognised credit card companies - such as American
Express, Diners Club, Eurocard/Mastercard, Visa -
for guarantees, extras and final reconciliation of
your account on return of your hire car. Typically,
payment to top up the fuel tank and other services
which cannot be prepaid with Holidays on Location.
General
Insurance Conditions
- Third Party Insurance (TI)
Insurance coverage for the vehicle rented
includes Third Party Liability with an unlimited
cover for material damages. Maximum cover for personal
injuries is EUR 3.8 Mill per injured person per insured
event and is limited to Europe only.
Excluded from the insurance is the use
of the vehicle for the transport of dangerous
goods. All insurance cover as part of the rental
contract will become void, in particular, if
an unauthorized driver has used the vehicle or
if the driver of the vehicle does not possess
the required driver´s licence at the time
of the event giving rise to claim.
- Loss Damage Waiver (LDW)
Loss Damage Waiver removes the drivers responsibility
to a part of the vehicle in case of damage or theft.
If LDW is not accepted the customer will be held liable for the full value
of the car.
If LDW is accepted, the customer is only responsible for the following amounts:
- EUR 450.- for all car and truck groups.
- EUR 720.- for group P.
- Theft Protection (TP)
Theft Protection removes the drivers responsibility
to a part of the vehicle in case of theft.
If TP is not accepted, the customer will be held liable for the full value
of the car/truck.
If TP is accepted, the customer is only responsible for the following amounts:
- EUR 450.- for all car and truck groups.
- EUR 720.- for group P.
- Personal Accident Insurance (PAI)
Personal Accident Insurance provides cover
against the consequences of an accident.
PAI includes up to:
- EUR 20,350.- for invalidity.
- EUR 12,720.- for decease.
- EUR 509.- for medical costs.
Delivery & Collection
- During Opening Hours
Within city limits a Delivery/Collection
Service charge of EUR 11.40 applies. Outside city
limits EUR 29.- plus EUR 0.50 per km will be charged.
For Vienna there are different prices: within city limits EUR 15.60, outside
city limits EUR 15.60 plus EUR 0.30 per km.
- Out of Opening Hours
Delivery/Collection Service is on request.
Please contact the local rental station.
An out of opening hours charge for Delivery/Collection Service may apply.
One Way Rentals
- National
One-Way Rentals within Sixt locations in
Austria are free of charge.
- International
All international One-Way Rentals are on
request only. Please contact the local rental station.
Cross Border
Rentals & Territorial Restrictions
- Cross Border Rentals are allowed to the
following countries:
Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic,
Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Great Britain,
Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein,
Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway,
Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain,
Sweden and Switzerland.
Cross border rentals with Audi, BMW,
Mercedes, VW cars as well as Jeeps/Offroader
are not allowed to the following countries:
Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithunia, Poland, Slovakia
and Slovenia.
By all vehicles of the groups IVMR, SVMR and FVMR (including all mercedes)
as well as transporters may be driven in these countries.
In case of offence against Cross Border & Territorial Restrictions all
insurances lose their validity.
- Foreign Use Charge
For travels into countries of the former "Eastern
Block" (incl. Croatia) a charge of EUR 30.60
per rental applies.
Service
Fee/Premium Location Fee
- A Service Fee of 15% on the basis rental rate (T&M)
occurs for rentals at airport and train stations.
Registration
Fee/Road Tax
- A Road Tax of EUR 4.50 per day, max. EUR 63.- per
rental occurs.
Other Fees
and Taxes
- Contract Fee
A Contract Fee of 1% of the total net amount
will be charged, if the total gross amount of the
car rental bill surpasses EUR 145-.
- VAT
All rates are inclusive of 20% VAT.
Extras
- Additional Driver
An Additional Driver Surcharge of EUR 4.50 per day, max. EUR 31.50 per rental
applies.
- Refuelling Charge
All vehicles are supplied with a full tank of fuel and should be refilled
prior to return to Sixt, otherwise our current refuelling charges will
apply.
