General
Rental Condition
- The driver has to be in possession of a valid
driving licence.
- Driving licences from non-EU countries (except
Switzerland) are accepted if:
- No visa has been entered in the passport.
- The customer has a visa in his passport
and at the time of hire has not been in
Europe for longer than 6 months. If he
has been in Europe for longer than 6 months,
he must present a driving licence from
an EU country.
Age Restrictions
- Minimum age in Switzerland is 20 and the driver
has to be in possession of a valid driving licence
for at least 1 year.
- Minimum age and possession of a valid driving
licence in Switzerland is:
- 21 years/2 years for vehicle groups IDMR
to LDAR and ETMR to ITMR.
- 25 years/3 years for vehicle group XDAR
and all other Special Cars.
Conditions
of Payment
- We accept all credit cards from internationally
recognised credit card companies - such as American
Express, Diners Club, Eurocard/Mastercard, Visa.
- Cash payments are only accepted for vehicles
from the CLMR group and for vans. The maximum
hire sum is CHF 600.00.
- To hire a BMW 6 series, Mercedes-Benz S Class
or Mercedes-Benz SL/CL, customers must present
a second credit card.
General
Insurance Conditions
- Third Party Insurance (TI)
Insurance coverage for the vehicle rented
includes Third Party Liability with a maximum
cover of CHF 3.0 Mill for personal injuries and
material damages. Maximum cover for personal
injuries is CHF 3.0 Mill per injured person per
insured event. Insurance coverage is limited
to Europe only.
Excluded from the insurance is the use of the vehicle for the transport of
dangerous goods. All insurance cover as part of the rental contract will
become void, in particular, if an unauthorized driver has used the vehicle
or if the driver of the vehicle does not possess the required driver´s
licence at the time of the event giving rise to claim.
- Loss Damage Waiver (LDW)
Loss Damage Waiver removes the drivers
responsibility to a part of the vehicle in case
of damage or theft.
If LDW is not accepted the customer will be held liable for the full value
of the car.
If LDW is accepted, customer is only responsible for the following amounts:
- CHF 750.- for all car groups and group C; CHF 1000.- for all Special
Cars.
- CHF 500.- for all other truck groups.
- Theft Protection (TP)
Theft Protection removes the driver's
responsibility to a part of the vehicle in case
of theft.
If TP is not accepted the customer will be held liable for the full value
of the car.
If TP is accepted, customer is only responsible for the following amounts:
- CHF 750.- all car groups; CHF 1000.- Special Cars.
- Personal Accident Insurance (PAI)
Personal Accident Insurance provides
cover against the consequences of an accident.
PAI includes up to:
- CHF 40,000.- for invalidity.
- CHF 20.000,- for decease.
- CHF 3 Mill for medical costs (up to a maximum of 5 years).
Delivery & Collection
- During Opening Hours
Within city limits a Delivery/Collection
Service charge of CHF 35.00 applies. Outside
city limits CHF 60.00 will be charged.
- Out of Opening Hours
- Delivery/Collection Service is on request.
Please contact the local rental station.
- An out of opening hours charge for Delivery/Collection
Service may apply.
One Way
Rentals
- National
One-Way Rentals within Sixt locations
in Switzerland are free of charge.
- International
All international One-Way Rentals are
on request. Please contact the local rental station.
Cross
Border Rentals & Territorial Restrictions
- Cross Border Rentals are allowed to
the following countries:
Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic,
Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany,
Great Britain, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia,
Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands,
Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia,
Spain, Sweden.
- Audi, BMW, Mercedes, VW vehicles may not be
taken into Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia,
Hungary, Latvia, Lithunia, Poland, Slovakia and
Slovenia.
- This is applies not to vehicles of the groups
IVMR, SVMR and FVMR (incl Mercedes) as well as
transporters.
- In case of offence against Cross Border & Territorial
Restrictions all insurances lose their validity.
Service
Fee/Premium Location Fee
- A Service Fee of 17% on the basis rental rate
(T&M) occurs for rentals at airport and train
stations.
Registration
Fee/Road Tax
- A Road Tax of CHF 3.50 per day, max. CHF 42.00
per rental occurs.
Other
Fees and Taxes
- VAT
All rates are inclusive of 7.6% VAT.
Extras
- Additional Driver
An Additional Driver Surcharge of CHF 9.00 per day, max. CHF 90.00 per rental
applies.
- Refuelling Charge
All vehicles are supplied with a full tank of fuel and should be refilled
prior to return to Sixt, otherwise our current refuelling charges will
apply.
